Fahrenheit 173 - Aged Spirits

"If it's not good enough to drink slowly, then it's not worth drinking"

Bowmore tasting

 28 Feb 2003

Some friends and I had a Bowmore tasting the other day, with nine different Bowmores on the table:

Bowmore 1968      90 p
Bowmore Claret89 p
Bowmore Voyage88 p
Bowmore 1288? p
Bowmore Darkest87 p
Bowmore Dusk86-87 p
Bowmore 2186 p
Bowmore Cask Strength86 p
Bowmore Surf84 p

I had tasted most of these before but the tasting still brought a couple of surprises. For one, the 1968 vintage was a lot nicer than I remembered it (very little peat but a very nice fruitiness). A surprise in the other direction was the "Cask Strength", my old favourite (it turned out to be younger and not as nice as the 12 y.o.).
