Fahrenheit 173 - Whisky"The king o' drinks, as I conceive it, Talisker, Isla or Glenlivit" (R.L. Stevenson) | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
My bottle of Ardbeg Corryvreckan, the newest Committee bottling, arrived in the mail the other day. It was named after the whirlpool in the Strait of Corryvreckan. From what I've heard, it's a vatting of bourbon, sherry and wine casks. Judging by the taste and the colour (which leans towards orange), I'd say it was red wine! I decided to taste it in a head-to-head with the Uigeadail, since Corryvreckan seems to have a similar concept to the "Oogie". If nothing else, they both have weird Gaelic names =) My notes: Ardbeg Corryvreckan 57.1%: Ardbeg Uigeadail 54.2%:
